Western Illinois University

A custom built landing Craft

This boat was made for the Biological Department of Western Illinois University.
It has a 99 inch beam and 30 inch sides.
Its trailer is a tandem axle steel painted model, complete with a spare tire and a hydraulic brake system.

It was constructed from 1/4 inch thick aluminum and has a non skid self draining deck.
It also has two removable booms and winches, with davits.
At the rear is a separate sampling sieve and processing console, and an external boarding ladder.

As you can see here, it has a side console and ten foot removable, collapsible bench seating.
What you can't see is that it has a no feed back steering system, full gauges, including fuel, tach, speed and trim.
It also has a 50 gallon built in fuel tank to feed the Suzuki DF200TXK7 outboard engine.

Up front, it has a drop down bow with an electric winch. The boat can be shore-loaded with an atv, or large equipment can be loaded and off-loaded easily.
The running lights and the overhead canopy are both removable, making this boat extremely flexible.
